Natural Investments PBLLC (NI) is a public benefit corporation and a nationwide SEC-registered Investment Advisor that has been focused exclusively on socially responsible and impact investing since the firm’s founding in 1985. With 23 independent advisors in offices nationwide, Natural Investments provides portfolio management and financial planning services to individual and institutional clients across the country representing over $1.8 billion in assets under management. Our primary tool is to deploy capital as a potent force for the change we wish to see. We also engage the wider world through various outreach and advocacy strategies, helping investors, businesses, government, and communities see the clear and well-documented case that socially responsible investments and policies not only benefit people and the planet, but also generate competitive financial returns. In 2023 Natural Investments became the first financial services company to convert its company ownership from six financial advisors to the Natural Investments Purpose Trust.

We are not traditional investment managers. We work very intentionally to dismantle racism and inequality through financial services.  When feasible, we channel capital to those who need it the most, particularly low-income communities, people of color, and women in order to increase opportunity, build financial capacity and wealth, and create a more equitable society. We actively seek to dismantle supremacy in all its forms, remove barriers to justice, and use our institutional privilege to address long-standing inequities. We also give back to our communities  in small but impactful ways, through 1-1 advising and group financial literacy workshops.

We currently serve individuals, families, businesses, and institutions. Of these clients, the majority are high net worth households that we work with over the long-term, providing them with both planning and on-going investment management services covering all aspects of their financial life. We also offer project-based financial planning to clients who either may not meet our minimums for investment management, or are seeking guidance and advice from an advisor related to specific concerns.

Strategy Squad is compensated for portfolio management and account services on an assets under management fee model. Fees are based on the asset value of the account, billed retroactively to the client’s account at Charles Schwab on a quarterly basis. Our fee schedule for assets under management is available upon request. This includes fees related to developing the investment plan, custodying, brokerage, asset transfers to and from other fund managers, advisor travel and training, administrative services, and investment monitoring and performance and impact reporting. We do not charge any upfront fees or transition costs outside of the regular advisor assets under management fee. Strategy Squad’s project-based financial planning only services are determined per client and complexity, and typically have a fee range of $6,000-$8,000 per year.

We cater to clients nationwide, maintaining multi-year management relationships without ever meeting some clients in person. Our proactive, personalized service model, coupled with technology, enables us to deliver an exceptionally personal client relationship irrespective of their location.

We have experience in sourcing investments with high social impact while caring for our client assets because we take our fiduciary responsibility seriously. We strongly believe that conscientious investors can transform economic systems and we encourage clients to support the democratization of access to power and wealth-building through supporting networks and organizations with bottom-up tactics, advocacy work, and innovative thinking.
