October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Too many women (and men) face economic abuse in their relationships, forcing them to choose between staying with an abusive partner or facing poverty. The National Domestic Violence Hotline alone receives between 1,600 and 2,000 contacts each day from people in the United States who need help finding resources and support about domestic violence.
